Our Research Labs & Centres

The Geneva School of Diplomacy hosts several dedicated research labs and centres, each focused on a specific area of inquiry within the broader field of international relations and diplomacy. These units bring together faculty, doctoral candidates, and visiting scholars to conduct focused research.

Centre for Multilateral Diplomacy

The Centre for Multilateral Diplomacy examines the functioning, reform, and future of international organisations. Research focuses on UN system governance, treaty negotiations, and the evolving landscape of multilateral cooperation in an increasingly multipolar world.

Lab for Digital Governance & Cyber Diplomacy

This lab investigates the intersection of technology and international relations, including cybersecurity norms, digital rights, AI governance, and the role of tech platforms in diplomatic processes. The lab hosts regular working sessions and publishes policy-relevant outputs.

Centre for Peace & Conflict Studies

Dedicated to understanding the dynamics of conflict, peacebuilding, and transitional justice, this centre produces research that informs mediation efforts and post-conflict governance frameworks. It maintains active relationships with Geneva-based peace organisations.

Global Health Diplomacy Unit

Situated at the crossroads of public health and diplomacy, this unit analyses international health negotiations, pandemic preparedness governance, and the political economy of global health initiatives.
