Advisory Council

The Advisory Council of the Geneva School of Diplomacy (GSD) provides external insight and strategic perspective in support of the School’s academic mission and institutional development.

The Council brings together senior figures with extensive professional experience in diplomacy, international organisations, public policy, and related fields, contributing independent expertise and sectoral knowledge.

Role of the Advisory Council

The Advisory Council serves in an advisory capacity and does not exercise executive or academic decision-making authority.

Its role is to:

  • Provide strategic insight on the School’s academic orientation and institutional positioning
  • Offer perspectives informed by professional practice in diplomacy and international affairs
  • Support the School’s engagement with international, institutional, and professional networks

The Council’s contributions complement, but do not replace, the School’s internal leadership and academic governance structures.

Advisory Council Members

The Advisory Council is composed of high-level professionals whose experience and expertise align with the Geneva School of Diplomacy’s academic focus.

Members include individuals with backgrounds in:

  • Diplomacy and multilateral engagement
  • International organisations and United Nations bodies
  • Public policy, international law, and global governance
  • Humanitarian action, development, and international cooperation

Relationship to Institutional Governance

The Advisory Council operates independently from the School’s leadership and academic governance bodies.

While Council members contribute strategic advice and external perspectives, institutional decision-making authority remains with the Geneva School of Diplomacy’s leadership and academic governance structures.
